We have been builders “of the unusual” for many decades, which not only includes buildings, but people and their potentials. Our specialty has been authentic log homes complete with wide chinking and 100-year-old barn beams.
Shawano Baker Manor’s original location was the historic Limestone Castle Supper Club from the 1930’s. It burned down in 1994. We purchased the remnant cement slab in 1995 and built a church on the site which was in operation for many years.
When the opportunity presented itself to renovate children’s classrooms of the 30-year-old church building into an Airbnb we were no strangers to the task. Dan loves building with wood and appreciates its varied beauty. Hence the unique craftsmanship of Shawano Baker Manor. Most of the furnishings in the 4 bed/3bath living quarters are vintage Baker furniture pieces circa the 1970’s.
ABOUT THE BAKER FURNITURE CO.
The American furniture company called Baker has been around since the late
1800’s. Presidents of the company have gathered much elaborate influence from
furniture makers around the world. Although Baker styles have adapted and
changed throughout the years, its quality and attention to detail has never waned.
Shawano Baker Manor is furnished almost exclusively with pieces from this
exquisite furniture making company.
